<i>Judging by the color and shape of the letters, the recollections in these ancient pages appear to&nbsp;</i><i>have been written over the course of numerous years.</i>

Many, many decades ago, I was taken prisoner and judged for my crimes. I don't recall exactly why, but I think I stole a fish; a lousy fish, just to feed my family. Or was it a bunch of fruits? It matters not. The scavengers were growing bold and overrunning our lands, so we had no food. I was desperate.

I remember something amiss about my executioner. He was consumed by hatred; he never listened to my pleas or even tried to understand my situation. I begged him for mercy, or at least, some help to take care of my family. But it was denied to me. 

Immediately, I was thrown into the Vitromotus to live the rest of my life. I used to miss my loved ones every day, yet nowadays I don't even remember their faces anymore, nor what I once felt for them. In any case, they are probably dust by now.

What we once considered a blessing turned out to be our greatest curse. What a gift it was, never searing death, pain, or hunger. Just die and you'll be back in no time, feeling like your stomach was full and your wounds healed. How naive we were back then.

My body is now broken. A landslide caught me, but something went wrong during my resurrection. My bones somehow fused in disjointed ways and now tear my flesh apart. The pain is endless, and I find no solace in death. I tried. I even slit my throat to end it all, yet came back the same way.

The Master knows and wants to help me, but I fear that not even he can fix me. There is no solace or freedom for me. Only suffering.

Esteemed visitor, welcome to the archives. If you are reading these words, it means you are, like the rest of us, caged inside the Vitromotus, the eternal prison. My name is Adeos, known as the scribe of the acolytes, and it is my duty to catalog and organize all the accumulated knowledge gathered over generations within these forgotten walls.

Perhaps you are uncertain about your identity, your relationships, or even your purpose. Fear not, for we all were at some point, as the powers brought by kymia, the life force, which compel us to cheat death, cannot prevent the inevitable decay of the mind.

 Is it for this reason that the denizens of the Vitromotus are drawn to immortalizing their thoughts on paper, no matter how trivial. I invite you to explore these writings filled with stories, reflections, and experiences, and absorb the wisdom and suffering felt by those cursed to live forever.

May their words guide and serve you well in your journeys.
